New LED lighting installation for a machine builder

The machine builder Otten in Breda, Holland manufactures machines according to customer specifications, and a focus is placed on precision from lathes to welding stations. Optimum light comfort is indispensable, and TRILUX met such demands with the E-Line LED.

The trunking system can be modified to various conditions, is highly energy-efficient and almost without maintenance. During construction of the new manufacturing hall and renovation of the existing hall, the client placed a specific focus on lighting.

"The customer expressly desired a lighting solution enabling its employees to work with more comfort and safety," explained TRILUX Managing Director Willem Dammers, because individual steps during production and assembly of the machines place differing demands on levels of illuminance. TRILUX met the specification with a single system: the E-Line LED. "The rapid-mount continuous line is an impressive example

of our guiding motto of SIMPLIFY YOUR LIGHT", emphasised Willem Dammers. "It's been designed precisely for the needs of customers in the industrial and manufacturing sectors – on the one hand standardised and with low maintenance, thereby providing high cost efficiency, and on the other with a modular design for high flexibility."

The lighting specialists from Arnsberg installed around 175 E-Line LEDs in the Otten machine-building company with floorspace of 2,800 square metres and a ceiling height of six metres. The luminaires emit glare-free light with a 4,000 Kelvin light colour, with illuminance varying according to the work area between 350 and 750 lux.

The modular design means the lighting solution can be simply and quickly expanded, and the E-Line LED also impresses across-the-board with its long lifespan and low effort regarding maintenance and care. Soiling and dust only collect slowly on the smooth surfaces of the E-Line and can be simply wiped away when needed. The E-Line LED also has high levels of energy efficiency. In the Otten machine works it emits 8,300

lm at a power consumption of only 68 watts. The system previously used in the old hall achieved 7,300 lm at 150 watts. This pays off in three ways. Customers benefit from rapid payback and government subsidies. The Dutch government supports energy-efficient technology in new buildings with 10.5% of the investment sum, including installation. The environment also benefits thanks to the caring handling of resources.
