The Polytechnic University of Bucharest is one of the largest and most prestigious university campuses in Romania. In response to growing demands for comfort, safety, and sustainable development, the university decided to carry out a comprehensive modernization of its outdoor lighting system. TRILUX had the honor of being a key partner and leading this advanced modernization project from May to October 2025.
The primary goal of the project was to ensure the well-being of students and university staff by implementing a modern, energy-efficient, and durable outdoor lighting system. Thanks to the use of high-quality TRILUX luminaires—including Jovie (on poles), Constela, 9821, and 8841—the campus achieved uniform illumination, high visual comfort, and maximum energy efficiency. All of this was accomplished while maintaining compliance with applicable standards, ensuring the durability and ease of use of the solutions, and integrating assign with the university's lighting requirements.
The decision to choose TRILUX was motivated by our strong market position, extensive experience in educational and infrastructure projects, and guarantee of top quality. For the investor, it was crucial to provide tailored solutions and comprehensive support at every stage of the investment process—from the initial concept and project design, through the tender phase, to delivery and installation of the luminaires.
It’s also worth emphasizing that the Polytechnic University of Bucharest was already familiar with the TRILUX brand through previous successful projects, making them confident in our vision and advanced technologies.
One of the key considerations during project execution was the effective coordination of lighting works with other infrastructure and construction investments, often carried out under time pressure. Precise planning and close cooperation and communication between all involved parties—including the Chorus Research Engineering design office and the university team—were essential. The process ran smoothly, from conceptual analysis of user needs and expectations, through a detailed, award-winning lighting design, to the delivery and installation of TRILUX luminaires.
The most significant difficulty during implementation was convincing the University Management to select our solution. However, thanks to professional support, transparent communication and presentation of the technological possibilities, we successfully implemented a system that meets all objectives. The result is an advanced outdoor lighting system that not only meets the highest functional and aesthetic standards but also significantly contributes to energy savings, enhanced safety, and user comfort on campus.
The modernization has significantly improved the functionality, safety, and comfort of the campus’s outdoor spaces. Energy consumption has been considerably reduced, and both students and faculty now benefit from uniform, pleasant lighting across the entire university area.
