When the new DTM racing season starts, excitement and adrenalin levels soar. Engines roar, the teams focus intensely - and Manthey is ready for another year of challenges and successes. To ensure optimum working conditions in the pits, the team relies on a strong lighting partner: TRILUX. In motorsport, every millisecond counts. Concentration and lightning-fast reactions are essential - and the right lighting plays a key role. Diana Klemm, lighting planner at TRILUX, explains: "Glare-free light is essential for both the driver and pit crew. That’s why we fine-tuned the luminaires' beam characteristics to suit these precise requirements.” In addition to technical perfection, light also influences the crew’s well-being and performance. "The customer wanted high illuminance levels to increase employee concentration," continues Klemm.
The lighting solution inside the pits is based on the E-Line system - and for good reason. "The combination of different optics and high lumen packages makes our continuous-row system the ideal choice. For this application, we needed high illuminance levels from a single luminaire as well as uniform light without glare or hotspots," explains Klemm. The use of special PMW optics provides soft and pleasant illumination throughout the space. Lighting as a Success Factor The benefits of the new lighting are clear to see. Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey Racing GmbH, emphasises: "Good illumination of the pits is essential. Only under optimal lighting conditions can our team work with precision and attention to detail. Good lighting also significantly improves the working environment.” Lighting quality is especially important during long race weekends. "We expect the new glare-free optics to improve concentration in the pits, particularly for the mechanics who sometimes spend hours working on the cars," says the team.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly relevant in motorsport. TRILUX lighting solutions are not only energy-efficient but are also flexible to use. The luminaires accompany the team to each event venue and must meet specific length requirements for safe trasportation. Fast installation was also a key benefit: "The lights for the driver's lane can be easily connected to the existing cabling and quickly mounted on the on-site truss system," explains Klemm. The successful partnership between TRILUX and Manthey continues: from 11 to 15 June, TRILUX will also illuminate the exterior pit areas at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
