As a long-standing business partner of 1.FC Köln, we have already realised numerous projects together, from the lighting of the sports hall and the players' cabins to the training and physio area. The football club is currently extensively renovating the traditional Geißbockheim sports and training centre in Cologne's green belt. A central building block: the remodelling of the former restaurant into a contemporary clubhouse and lively meeting place for fans, members, employees and visitors. Our job: A lighting concept that perfectly illuminates all areas, reflects the identity of the traditional club and was also quick and easy to realise. A clear case for our universal conductor rail system Rail.

Tactics: Rectangles for restaurant lighting

The approx. 500m2 clubhouse is divided into various utilisation areas. In addition to a restaurant open to the public, there is a multifunctional room (mixed zone) for team or media discussions and separate lounge and work areas for employees. The highly flexible Rail conductor rail system proved to be the perfect solution everywhere. Depending on requirements, it is used as a linear or rectangular closed version and is fitted with flush Linell linear inserts for ambient lighting and Lenty spotlights for attractive accents. The luminaires are networked and connected to the building's existing DALI lighting management system for control. This allows the lighting to be flexibly adapted to changes in room utilisation, for example for larger events.

Powerplay: realisation in just two weeks

With a target of two weeks, the time frame for the lighting refurbishment was quite ambitious - but could be met thanks to efficient planning, precise logistics and simple installation. "Thanks to the installation on the perforated plasterboard ceiling, no new installation points had to be drilled, which considerably simplified and accelerated the process," recalls Stefan Effmert, Deputy Regional Manager West TRILUX, who supervised the project. The result is not only worth seeing for fans of 1. FC Köln. "A glance at the ceiling shows how flexibly Rail can be adapted to individual architectural conditions, how harmoniously it blends into modern interior design - and how the flexible system ensures perfect visual conditions and an attractive ambience everywhere thanks to the matching inserts," summarises Stefan Effmert .
