Emergency lighting is also often mandatory in outdoor areas. Regulations such as the state building regulations (LBO) and workplace regulations (ASR A3.4/7) require safety lighting for escape routes inside and outside buildings. This is why many classic products from our outdoor portfolio are also available as emergency lighting versions in accordance with DIN EN 60598-2-22. The spectrum ranges from the Osido for façade lighting to 8841 bollards and the ConStela light column through to the Lumantix post-top luminaire.
Emergency lighting
Surface-mounted luminaires, bollards, columns, pole-mounted luminaires - with the TRILUX portfolio there are many options for realising emergency lighting in outdoor areas close to buildings. This flexibility means that even larger areas, from the car park to the entrance area, can be completely covered with emergency lighting. As a rule, the installation of central battery-powered outdoor emergency lighting is surprisingly simple. The central battery system is usually housed in the cellar or utility room. In the event of a power failure, the emergency lighting is supplied with the required operating current via the "normal" three-wire cabling. Depending on the emergency lighting variant, the light intensity can be 100 or 50 per cent of the standard light intensity, but according to DIN EN 60598-2-22 it must reach at least 1 lux on the walkways.
We use modules from CEAG and Inotec, among others, to control and monitor the emergency lighting. Modules from other emergency lighting systems can also be tested and used. The monitoring modules continuously measure the input current consumption of the light driver. If there is a power failure, the monitoring module informs the emergency lighting system - the emergency lighting is activated. Practical: Even a defective bulb is immediately reported to the responsible service centre. The safety modules are available for both switchable (ET) and dimmable (ETDD) luminaires.
The modules are also flexible when it comes to the operating mode: you can choose between permanent switching, standby switching and switched permanent light. When permanently switched on, the light is always active, only in mains operation and in an emergency via the battery. In standby mode, the emergency lighting is only connected to the central battery and only lights up in the event of a power failure. When the continuous light is switched on, the light is controlled in normal operation via a push-button, sensors or time-dependent - i.e. it can be off or on. If there is a power failure, it is supplied with power via the battery regardless of the switch position and switches on. Typical areas of application for this operating mode are car parks and access routes with sensor and time-controlled lighting.
Our emergency lighting-compatible outdoor lights are also available without an integrated monitoring module on request. The module can be placed in front of the luminaires in the sub-distribution board by the customer. The compatible reference products without an emergency lighting module can be recognised by the EL 100 (100 % in AC and DC mode) or EL50 (100 % in AC mode, 50 % in DC mode) identifier. The luminaires may be used in accordance with the emergency lighting standard EN 60598-2-22. Companies that lack the capacity to implement standardised and future-proof lighting, for example, benefit from our full-service offering. We take on all tasks from consulting and planning to implementation, operation and maintenance. A particular strength: our holistic lighting concepts for indoor and outdoor areas from a single source.
