Osnabrück became the meeting place for the lighting design community on 3 July 2025, as the German Lighting Design Award was presented for the 15th time, across 13 categories spanning office and administration, cultural buildings, outdoor spaces, and artistic installations. TRILUX solutions featured in nine nominated projects, with three winning their category – clear recognition of the quality, versatility, and innovation of our lighting solutions.
The German Lighting Design Award ceremony is not just an exciting evening for the shortlisted lighting designers; it’s a celebration for the whole lighting industry. TRILUX solutions were present in no fewer than nine nominated entries this year: "The Lighting Design Award is a great endorsement of our close collaboration with lighting designers, and of TRILUX's strength in realising complex and challenging concepts. We are always thrilled to translate creative design ideas into technical lighting reality -and to propose or develop suitable solutions together," says Karsten Müller, Managing Director of TRILUX Vertrieb GmbH.
Tacheles Berlin—a former artists’ centre now home to the Swedish Fotografiska Museum—is one of this year’s winners. Designed by Berlin-based lighting studio jack be nimble, the concept demonstrates how light can impressively showcase heritage architecture while supporting modern use. The lighting highlights of the project include bespoke luminaires based on TRILUX’s So-Tube, which form a visual thread through the space—from sculptural chandeliers to a spiralling light feature in the stairwell.

Jack be nimble also designed the award-winning lighting concept for Berlin's Educational Centre B. The project impresses with a holistic approach that connects the interior and exterior spaces while accentuating the historic façade. Highlights include a light sculpture in the courtyard—evoking a DNA helix—and custom façade lighting. The interior impresses too, each level of the central tower has its own identity thanks to individual lighting. The basement, for example, is reminiscent of a Victorian library, while the ground floor, with its restored domed ceiling, is perfectly staged with glare-free indirect light.
The Hamburg flagship is the first to reflect Telekom’s new store design. Designed by LEPEL & LEPEL (interior design) and a.g Licht GmbH (lighting design), the concept creates an immersive brand world under the theme “Waterkant”. Light and interior design work together to enhance physical retail—creating regional identity and atmosphere via a new “corporate lighting” concept.
In this role, lighting fulfils both aesthetic and functional tasks - it zones, sets the scene, and creates orientation. Large-scale lighting features include canvas ceilings with filigree rod lights and a dynamic LED installation at the welcome counter that brings the water theme to life.
TRILUX has delivered several major lighting schemes for Telekom—including their Hamburg and Düsseldorf flagship stores.

TRILUX also contributed to six other nominated projects - as a reliable partner that provides dependable technical expertise to help in realising complex lighting solutions. Both tried-and-tested solutions from our portfolio and bespoke luminaires were used to bring each design to life. This combination made it possible to realise the lighting designers' ideas convincingly in terms of design. Examples include the main telegraph office in Berlin (lighting design: jack be nimble), the Continental HQ in Hanover (lighting design: a•g Licht GmbH), and the Beiersdorf Working Café and Campus Restaurant in Hamburg (lighting design: Lichtwerke GmbH). "Lighting plays a central creative role in sophisticated architecture, through both lighting effect and luminaire design," explains Karsten Müller.
