This makes Vienna even more beautiful: the DOUGLAS „House of Beauty“ on Kärtner Straße has reopened after renovation. High-quality lighting underlines the omnichannel provider’s luxury flagship store’s ambitions in premium beauty.
"A triad of iconic architecture, historic urbanity and luxury and expertise on the shop floor," describes Veit Weiland, CEO of DOUGLAS DACH, the new design of the representative areas in the heart of the Austrian capital. Here, historic architectural elements merge with high-quality materials to create an exclusive shopping ambience with a feel-good factor, in a modern colour scheme of white, black and grey with gold accents. The central arcade courtyard with an illuminated ceiling conveys an overwhelming sense of space.
This impression is subtly reinforced by the lighting: the LiveLink BLE lighting management system controls the colour and brightness of the light ceiling and thus the overall ambience of the room. Juno pendant lights, suspended from 6 m-long supply cables, add minimalist design accents to the space and, with their distinctive lens optics, cast glare-free, brilliant light across the surface. The cove illuminated in DOUGLAS‑Mint serves as a restrained statement for the brand.
With recessed ceiling luminaires like the Lenty, store designers realise flexible lighting solutions with a calm, refined ceiling aesthetic. The pared-back form of the spotlights emphasises the high-end quality – no wonder DOUGLAS applies this concept in its premium stores. A wide swivel range and lighting technology offering three different beam angles also provide plenty of scope for changes and adjustments.
But spotlight track systems with Lenty Track also have their place in the "House of Beauty": for example in the area for natural cosmetics, defined by wooden wall and ceiling elements, where suspended tracks fit perfectly between the wooden slats of the ceiling structure. In the cabins for cosmetic treatments, different lighting scenes can be called up situationally via DALI at the touch of a button.
