Maastricht Aachen Airport

Maastricht Aachen Airport underwent a major transformation in a short period, while the airport remained fully operational. The building not only received a refreshed appearance but also a clear and intuitive wayfinding system for travelers. 

In collaboration with the architectural firm Phideas, TRILUX implemented a holistic lighting concept in which lighting plays a key role in safety, wayfinding, and passenger flow. The lighting supports the different zones within the terminal, each with its own atmosphere and function: warm, comfortable lighting in waiting areas, and clear, linear lighting in circulation zones that guide travelers from the entrance to the gates. Through deliberate choices in light distribution and intensity, the lighting plan contributes to a sense of calm, clarity, and a pleasant travel experience, fully in harmony with the building’s architecture.
