A decisive factor in effective resource protection is the recycling of valuable materials. We at TRILUX are genuine professionals in this regard.

 

MANY BENEFITS

Recovering raw materials from discarded products protects nature. However, recycling also offers further advantages. Recovery is often more energy and cost efficient, and recycled materials are usually obtained locally. Based on this, TRILUX consistently analyses all stages along the value chain with the aim of identifying and utilising as many options as possible for the recovery and recyclability of materials and auxiliary materials. What cannot be recycled or reused is correctly disposed of.

 

COMPETENT SERVICE PROVIDERS

The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) applies to the majority of TRILUX products. As the German implementation of the European WEEE Directive ( Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) , it regulates the placing on the market, return and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment. In order to fulfill the take-back obligations resulting from the law in Germany, TRILUX has  concluded a contractwith the Cologne-based Interseroh-Dienstleistungs GmbH. It takes over take-back, recycling and disposal. In addition, TRILUX cooperates with the disposal and recycling specialist REMONDIS in the area of transport and disposal of critical materials.

DECREASING WASTE

For several years the quantities of waste in the production facilities of the TRILUX Group have been continuously decreasing. We start at the conception stage of products for example in order to reduce packaging waste. Design and development are assessed with regard to sustainable packaging, and when selecting their material and design recyclability is a central criterion. 

CLEAR RULES

Our guiding motto is "avoidance before recycling before disposal". In line with this, TRILUX has obligated all suppliers to take back their packaging. In order to simplify recycling, they must also label their products and components with regard to recyclability. 

IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE

In order to drive the reduction of our corporate footprint, we need to know the carbon footprint of each individual product. In cooperation with Interseroh we have drawn up analyses on recyclability and the material value when recycled, including logistics, costs for collection and further factors. The goal is a digital data passport for each product version.
