Lecture halls

Lighting in lecture halls, particularly with tiered seating, requires sound glare elimination from the perspective of the audience, which can be achieved by using appropriately glare-free specular louvre luminaires. From the lecturer’s point of view, glare should only be limited to a certain extent. More to the point: The lecturer is standing in the limelight, so to speak, and should even be spotlighted in order to keep the hall’s attention focussed. Lecture halls often do not have windows, which makes the illuminance value of 500 lx specified by EN 12464-1 rather insufficient, e.g. on bright summer days, if the feeling of being trapped inside is to be avoided.
