This weekend, the ABB FIA Formula E was back in Berlin again: at Tempelhof Airport in Berlin (Germany), eleven teams competed in the penultimate race of the European races. The automobile manufacturer Porsche is also entering Formula E for the 2019/2020 season. Its official lighting partner TRILUX has now been equipping the Porsche team for the fourth year in a row with innovative, intelligent lighting solutions, and most recently in the LMP1 in pit lanes, garages, and drivers’ areas.

After officially exiting the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), Porsche and TRILUX now continue their cooperation in the Formula E. The Formula E team has also announced its first signing for the debut with Neel Jani. The Swiss driver has already completed his first kilometres in the new racing car at the Porsche test track in Weissach (Germany). After 60 years of unique motorsport history, Porsche is changing a part of its own DNA and positioning itself more broadly for the future: the sports car manufacturer is now moving from the LMP1 hybrid concept for endurance driving to the world of urban e-mobility. TRILUX is accompanying this step as the official lighting partner: the lighting specialist from Arnsberg, Germany is providing the team from Weissach with smart, custom lighting solutions.

“The right lighting at the right time means an important contribution to the success of Porsche, both in LMP1 as well as in Formula E in the future. We’re creating ideal framework conditions for the whole team for carrying out high-precision work under enormous time pressure,” explained Joachim Geiger, TRILUX Group Director of Marketing. “Porsche and TRILUX both have pioneering products and a shared mentality: their passion for top performance and their ambition to provide customers with emotional experiences. We have the courage to realign and reinvent ourselves on a regular basis, to pursue new paths, and at the same time to remain true to our roots – that’s why the race series is a perfect fit for us.”
