Illuminating creativity

TRILUX completes a lighting project for the Milbby chain

TRILUX has created a tailored lighting solution for Milbby, Spain’s leading fine arts and crafts retailer, at its new store in the Marineda City Shopping Centre (A Coruña). The design combines uniform illumination, energy efficiency and precise accent lighting to enhance product presentation, highlight signage and showcase René Mäkelä’s unique artwork, all while reinforcing the brand’s creative identity and elevating the customer experience.

Zaragoza, 08 September 2025 - Professional lighting specialist TRILUX has designed and delivered a bespoke lighting scheme for Milbby, Spain's leading fine arts and crafts chain, at its new store in the Marineda City Shopping Centre, A Coruña.

Founded in 2017, Milbby won the hearts of artists and hobbyists with its wide range of products, materials and workshops. Today the brand operates 20 stores across Spain - including Andalusia, Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Castile and Leon, Castile-La Mancha, the Basque Country, Cantabria and Aragon. Its mission is clear: "To contribute to the happiness of the world through creativity, art and imagination".

For the new A Coruña store, TRILUX developed a lighting concept that not only highlights the products, but also strengthens the brand identity and enhances the customer experience. The solution combines technical uniformity, energy efficiency and accent lighting to create an inspiring atmosphere in line with Milbby’s creative character.

Technology and design for every area

In the central aisle, TRILUX’s E-Line Next continuous line system paired with B.Veo spotlights provides a visual guide that leads the visitor while accentuating the gondola headers. Low level shelving is illuminated using three-phase track with Grado projectors, ensuring uniform vertical illumination and excellent product visibility. The same approach is used for the higher perimeter shelving, maintaining visual coherence throughout. Perimeter brand signage is enhanced with B.Veo floodlights with elliptical optics, designed to distribute light precisely and evenly.

In the checkout area, a combination of B.Veo spotlights and Grado projectors ensures uniform illumination that enhances the corporate signage.

Art and light as a welcome

Each Milbby store features a bespoke artwork by internationally recognised Mallorcan artist René Mäkelä that connects with the city in which the store is located. His signature style blends pop art, street art, and classical references and his work is often found in the collections of celebrities such as Madonna, Cara Delevingne and Pope Francis. To give this store’s unique piece the attention it deserves, TRILUX created an accent lighting scheme with higher illumination levels, making it a focal point visible from the entrance.

More than light: A brand experience

The collaboration between TRILUX and Milbby demonstrates how a well-designed lighting scheme can go beyond the functional, acting as part of the brand story and customer journey. By selecting high-efficiency luminaires with tailored optics, TRILUX has delivered a solution that enhances product presentation, elevates the store environment, and conveys Milbby’s creative essence.

With this project, TRILUX strengthens its reputation as a trusted retail lighting partner, offering solutions that combine design, technology and sustainability to create unique customer experiences.
