TRILUX has just celebrated its 111th anniversary. What profession would you have chosen to work in back then?

I would have loved to be a customer advisor, as I am today, in the retail trade. Mixed offerings in the form of department stores were a new and fascinating idea that later became well-established. However, it was simpler back then compared to today: simpler products and lower demands.

What do you consider to be the three most important lighting inventions of the last 111 years?

Firstly, I would mention the incandescent lamp; even though the invention was made in the 19th century, everything else builds on it. Among others, the halogen lamp doubled the efficiency and service life of the simple lamp. Secondly, the fluorescent lamp made it possible for the first time to produce artificial light that resembled daylight. This product enabled TRILUX to create highly efficient luminaires in combination with sophisticated specular louvre technology. Without this technology, we wouldn't be where we are today. Lastly, LEDs, with their efficiency, versatility, longevity, and simple control, represent the future of TRILUX.

Is there a project that has particularly stuck in your memory, and why?

Yes, the Bühler AG Customer Center. This company is a world leader in technologies and processes for grain. In 2007, we had the opportunity to illuminate their buildings with Polaron. The refurbishment followed in 2022 with PolaronIQ. The fact that the customer chose to commission us again for the refurbishment after 15 years, sticking with the same lighting concept, shows that we did everything right in the project at that time and were able to build trust.

Wherever there is light, there is life, and it brings people together.
What's your favorite thing to do with your friends?

That's when I shift down a gear. I enjoy sitting down with friends over a glass of wine and perhaps a fine meal prepared by myself, of course. I also like to travel by e-bike, sometimes for several days at a time or even for a vacation week. Driving vintage cars at a max of 80 km/h is another hobby of mine. Shared experiences with friends are very important to me.

Describe TRILUX in three words.

Innovation. Future. Family.
