Over 400 TRILUX LED luminaires  in the new VIPA office building in Herzogenaurach

A small place but a major name: the German town of Herzogenaurach with a population of just 23,000 is not only home to large German sports product manufacturers but is also a centre for state-of the-art technology. A small place but a major name: the German town of Herzogenaurach with a population of just 23,000 is not only home to large German sports product manufacturers but is also a centre for state-of the-art technology. VIPA, a specialist for automation technology, has erected a new office building on its premises at a cost of € 10m, equipped throughout with TRILUX LED luminaires.

VIPA’s daily business is to modernise L’Oreal’s building technology, Ford’s overhead conveyor systems or Audi’s building automation facilities. Business is good and expansion is constant. With a view to the future, the company for visualisation and process automation has now constructed a new building adjacent to their current

headquarters to expand office capacity. This is being implemented by a swapping of tenants – the companies Schaeffler and Proleit are moving to the new building from the old, existing areas, thus ultimately giving VIPA more room.

The requirement profiles of the tenants are reflected in the transparent, striking and slightly colourful architecture and interior design. The interiors are confidently presented with three TRILUX luminaire ranges. TRILUX systems in the corridors, relaxation rooms and offices achieve uniform illumination which significantly promotes work. The Belviso luminaire range in the offices provides glare-free and shadowless light for fatigue-free work.

Both tenants and employees are enthusiastic. "Feedback is positive throughout, the luminaires are conspicuous and underline the contemporary flair of the VIPA building – it's turned out to be completely popular," said TRILUX Managing Director Thomas Kretzer. Thanks to generous fenestration, the elegant illumination of the new six-storey building can be seen from afar, leaves a lasting impression and characterises the image of the industrial area – the building height exceeds the height of the other buildings by several storeys.

"The distinct design of the luminaires played an important part in planning," continued Thomas Kretzer. These were intended to emphasise the unusual architecture of the new building and at the same time comply with the high demands. "The modern designs and their special materials were decisive," said the Managing Director.

With its three product series TRILUX not only provided performance and good appearances, but also sustainability with an operating duration of over 50,000 hours and hardly any maintenance complexity compared to conventional systems – precisely in accordance with the corporate philosophies of the construction authority and tenants. "It was all about modern flair, future-proof systems, sustainability and protecting resources," summarised Thomas Kretzer.

Collaboration between VIPA, the technical partners and TRILUX proved to be easy-going. Future-proof lighting technology, thorough planning and reliable implementation show once again that TRILUX implements refurbishment projects in an uncomplicated and simple manner thanks to its extensive range of services and lighting concepts – precisely according to its brand message: "Simplify Your Light".
