Changing trends in offices

Our modern world is part of the communication society. No other area of work has been subject to as much change in recent years as the office space. Around 1950, in Germany only ca. 30% of employees were tasked with office or office-related work. By 1995, their number had surpassed 50%. And today? More and more people live and work in a service and office society. A trend which continues undiminishedly. It has not only encompassed the administration, trade and service sectors, but also transportation, healthcare, manufacturing with progressing process automation and many other sectors – and screens are utilised predominantly.

The change in the office work space has also found its way into room design. Flexible adaptions to changed requirements, new work hierarchies, responsibilities and room design flexibility are some of the reasons why the classic office layout – the office cell – does not live up to expectations anymore.
