The supporting column, lighting technology, optics etc. can be configured in just a few steps using a practical online configurator, and can be custom-adapted to the specific project and individual framework conditions on-site.

Which possibilities are made available by further development of the ConStela IQ?

Which use cases or features does the product offer?

  • Modular construction. Complete flexibility. The modular system makes it possible: supporting columns with various heights and various luminaire heads enable the creation of unique light columns.
  • Concise forms. A timeless design. The unique and minimalist design means ConStela has a timeless appearance. It's the ideal solution for sophisticated outdoor design.
  • The luminaire can illuminate both plazas and roads as well as display individual buildings. With all its diversity and flexibility, ConStela LED with its purist looks represents an attractive and sophisticated design that upgrades urban environments with design and light effects both during the day and night.
  • The column is integrated into a Germany-wide charging network of eRoaming partners; heavy vehicles can be rapidly recharged via a quick-charging type 2 socket with 22 KW.
  • With our column, the mains connection for the charging module is not provided in a separate switch cabinet next to the column (as with our competitors) – with us it is integrated in the column.
  • The supporting column houses a separate power connection for mains connection of the lighting unit.
  • The signal module indicates whether the column is free or whether a vehicle is currently being charged (in this case the LED ring lights up blue).
  • Public Wi-Fi can be made available via the Wi-Fi antenna integrated into the column head.

Which downstream services can be offered for the charging module?

  • Commissioning of the charging module; but only in the Federal Republic of Germany – other countries on request

How does the technical control of the column function?

The E-charging module is controlled via the assembled components and the backend of our partner. The Wi-Fi is also operated via an own backend of our partner according to appropriate rules and regulations. The lighting can be connected via the standard low voltage grid and equipped with various features (LR, LRA, Dali-dimmable).

With regard to power supply, which mains preconditions must be fulfilled?

  • The local power supplier must agree to connection to the grid concerning the technical grid connection conditions (TAB).
  • Power capacity of 22 KW must be available from the low voltage grid.
  • A separate power connection for the luminaire head must be available.
  • If public Wi-Fi is desired there must also be a telecommunication connection according to the type of Wi-Fi model.

Does it depend on the customer's local electricity supplier whether the charging module can be connected to the grid?

Use of the column is independent of the local electricity supplier or network operator. Connection to the grid must be made available in a non-discriminatory way according to the preconditions specified in the point above. The backend of our partner brings together the network operator, the electricity supplier, the operator/owner and the customer.

How is invoicing of the charging or power consumption carried out?

The calibration law-compliant invoicing of energy consumed at the charging socket is carried out according to the precise quantity of kilowatt hours via a Germany-wide charging network of eRoaming partners. Within the charging network, drivers of electric vehicles can tank power throughout Germany according to the conditions of their own vehicle power contract. For this purpose, the specific charging column simply activates via smartphone app or Smartcable. Invoicing among the partner companies is ensured via the high-performance backend of our partner. In this way the customer receives a uniform invoice. An invoice is however also possible without vehicle power contract.

Which preconditions must be fulfilled for the Wi-Fi, and does the Wi-Fi depend on the provider?

The service provider is our partner with an own Wi-Fi backend. Each shipped access point always connects via internet and VPN with this backend. Internet access providers can be e.g. Telecom, Vodafone, innogy etc. Power supply of the router is via the road lighting grid (continuous phase).

How is the data security of the Wi-Fi?

Legally secure Wi-Fi. Own Wi-Fi backend. Our partner uses this system itself. Our partner reserves the right to specify and extend conditions of use across the contractual period based on data protection-legislative regulations (data protection conditions).

Which downstream services can be offered for the Wi-Fi?

  • Wi-Fi service (Wi-Fi infrastructure/backend/operation)
  • The fault-free, performance-related operation of the Wi-Fi hotspot including infrastructure is ensured via the qualified service management of our partner.
  • Implementation (rough concepts, detailed concepts, cabling, setting up of hardware) of the Wi-Fi service on-site can also be offered, but these services must be commissioned separately by the customer. 
  • Access is implemented via a static detection screen specified by our partner (or the customer) that enables a pictorial/textual indication of the sponsoring of the Wi-Fi service and that is also optimised for mobile end devices. Accessing this detection screen is made possible via the https protocol.
