Modernised Dimpact office in Enschede

Innovative lighting with the Rail system

In the newly modernised office of Dimpact, an association of Dutch municipalities focused on digital collaboration, working, meeting and relaxing are treated with equal importance. The project management and design office DRDS created a harmonious interior design concept, while TRILUX delivered the corresponding lighting solution. The result is a modern workplace that clearly reflects Dimpact’s corporate identity. "We have created a working environment that pro-motes both concentration and dialogue. It wasn't just about lighting, but a holistic experience," says Ruben Middag, project coordinator at DRDS. A central highlight: our Rail track system

From tender to turnkey

Around three quarters of the office floor was modernised, with sustainability playing a central role. In addition to materials such as wood and recycled plastic, the lighting had to deliver efficiency, sustainability and strong design. As a full-service project manager, DRDS oversaw the project from the initial concept through to the turnkey handover, coordinating all stakeholders.

The close collaboration between DRDS and TRILUX began after the design phase. "We have enjoyed a successful partnership with TRILUX for many years. They delivered a lighting concept fully aligned with our ideas and Dimpact’s identity. Once again, coordination was quick and straightforward," Middag explains.

Lighting with character

The lighting design follows a clear principle: functional louvre luminaires ensure optimal working light in the offices, while ambient lighting shapes the atmosphere in the communal areas. Subtle corporate design accents, such as the pink Limba pendant luminaires in the kitchen, create visual highlights. "The design concept is reflected in everything, from the work café and canteen to the meeting zones," says Middag. "TRILUX implemented it perfectly."

Flexibility was equally important. Pendant luminaires above the desks and the new Rail track system, which extends from the corridor into the meeting rooms, ensure that every area is lit appropriately, creating a balanced mix of task and ambient lighting.

Innovative and elegant: the Rail track system

"The Rail is a real innovation," says Middag. As a 230-volt track system, it requires no separate converter, supports long runs without voltage losses and provides sufficient power reserve for higher luminous fluxes in office environments. Flush-mounted linear inserts and Invisible adapters for spotlights and pendants emphasise the minimalist aesthetic. Lenty spotlights provide accent lighting, while Linell modules add ambient layers of light. The system offers flexible mounting options and is also available in curved formats on request. The profile contains six conductors for three independently switched luminaire groups plus DALI control lines for light management. Wireless control is also available. The system can be supplied in white, black or as in this project, a bespoke colour. "For us, this system offers maximum creative freedom, without compromising technical performance or visual comfort," Middag adds.

Agile teamwork, enthusiastic employees

Even last-minute changes were implemented with ease. "Shortly before completion, Dimpact redesigned a room, which affected the lighting layout and luminaires lengths. TRILUX responded quickly and offered a suitable solution. This pragmatic approach makes the collaboration special."

The complete office floor was renovated in just two months. The result is modern and atmospheric - and most importantly, employees are delighted. An internal survey recorded an average satisfaction score of 8.9. Middag concludes: "This confirms that the design, technology and collaboration came together exactly as planned."

The result: an office that inspires.
