Pre-op and recovery rooms

Lighting in auxiliary operation rooms must be coordinated with the lighting in the operating theatre in terms of lighting levels. Light sources identical in terms of light colour and colour rendering to those in the operating theatre must be used.

Recovery room lighting fulfils two tasks: On the one hand, general lighting must be provided; on the other hand, strongly reduced lighting for the patient’s recovery phase with minimum glare to the reclining patient is required. Indirect recovery area lighting is the best solution. Additional lighting can provide increased illuminance at the bed, if required.
