Visual task area

To define the visual task area in highly diverse healthcare environments is often difficult. Often areas used for work are equipped with general lighting.

In wards the visual task area  for reading is clearly defined (see figure). The designated examination location in the room is the most demanding visual task area. In special cases, it is advisable to seek expert guidance from the treatment personnel. It is important to consider that the visual task area may be horizontal, vertical or tilted.
