In reception areas, lighting should create a calming atmosphere and provide orientation in the building, e.g. using coloured LED luminaires and displays. According to EN 12464-1, the walls (primary surfaces) in entrance halls should be illuminated at a minimum of 75 lx, and the ceiling at a minimum of 50 lx (with minimum uniformity of 0,10 for both). If the entrance area is equipped with VDU workstations, general lighting requirements correspond to those of usual office lighting (see also chapter "Lighting of offices and rooms with VDU workstations").
