In addition to sufficient horizontal illuminance Eh, they also have to feature sufficient vertical illuminance Ev to facilitate safe and quick spatial perception. As a reference parameter, the semi-cylindrical illuminance Esz (see chapter "Lighting quality criteria", section "Spatial lighting, direction of light, modelling") is used. The assessment is done in the main movement direction(s) of persons and vehicles within the parking garage respectively, at 1,5 m above the floor.
