In 1949, Wilhelm Lenze KG decided to only manufacture luminaires for the then new low-voltage fluorescent lamps. The triple luminous efficacy of the new lamps compared to incandescent lamps gave the TRILUX trademark its name.

New control gear for these lamps and new manufacturing technologies had to be developed, which challenged the engineers. Knowledge about the new light sources and good lighting had to be passed on to users. To this end, TRILUX was involved in numerous publications and lecture events. Technical information on lighting and electrical engineering from TRILUX has been a tradition ever since. In 1956, the TRILUX LIGHTING GUIDE was published in German. Many updates followed. In 2007 and 2009, this information was published in the form of a two-volume specialist book series with the sections ‘Lighting Practice - Indoor Lighting’ and ‘Lighting Practice - Outdoor Lighting’.
