Requirements for general lighting in physician and nurse duty rooms correspond to those of standard office lighting according to EN 12464-1 and DIN 5035-7 (see chapter "Lighting of offices and rooms with VDU workstations"). For special tasks with elevated visual requirements, illuminance must be increased accordingly. If examinations are carried out in doctors’ rooms, the requirements for general or corresponding special examination rooms apply there as well. Considering recreational breaks and rest periods for care personnel, a separate, mood-based lighting for staff rooms as well as meeting zones is recommended.
