Thresholds for harmonic mains current oscillation in luminaires and luminaire accessories are defined in EN 61000-3-2 "Electromagnetic compatibility, limits for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current ≤ 16 A per phase)". Adherence to the defined thresholds ensures that no impermissible impact (interference through circuit feedback) of consumers connected to the same mains supply occurs. Thresholds vary for luminaires with fewer than 25 W and those starting at 25 W input power.
